In 1979, village resident Doris Baldwin conceived the notion of a seasonal tree illumination with blue bulbs to represent the hue of the forget-me-not flower. Each bulb represents the memory of a chaerished loved one. Through the years, due to the efforts of many, this tradition has become an important fundraiser for the Fayetteville Senior Center. The evergreen next to the Fayetteville Fire Station will be illuminated in stages as donations and memories grow throughout the holiday season.
The Wortley Foundation continues to sponsor the star that adorns the top of the tree, and we are dedicating this year's tree to all those members that have passed away, including our founding members of the Memory Tree fundraising campaign.
We offer 2 levels of sponsorship. If interested, please download our Business Sponsor Form here.
FSC receives some funding from the Village of Fayetteville, but we must raise the balance from a combination of membership dues, donations, and fundraising activities.
One of our biggest fundraising efforts is the Annual Appeal. Won't you please support us in reaching our goal of $25,000 ? Your kind donations help make it possible for us to continue to provide worthwhile programming for our ever increasing elder population, and will have a positive impact on our community.
